Sustrans has been working closely with local authorities, the National Trust and Transport for London to improve and promote the Wandle Trail for a number of years. This has recently included leading on signing the WandleTrail as part of the National Cycle Network. Sustrans is active with the Bike It programme locally to encourage kids to cycle to school and utilise the route.

The Wandle Trust is an environmental charity dedicated to restoring and maintaining the health of the River wandle and its catchment. We do this through physical improvements, education and engagement and through partnership and facilitation with other organisations and people interested in the Wandle. We have several key activities including our popular community river cleanups which we run on the second Sunday of every month and our Trout in the Classroom project which involves local school children rearing brown trout from egg to fry, at which point they are released into the river.
